Change certificate thumbprint

This article explains how to change the thumbprint of your certificate for your eHerkenning account. You can find this option under My Details in 'Mijn Reconi'.

Step-by-Step Guide: Changing the Thumbprint for EH4

Step 1. Preparation
Make sure you have the following information available:

  • The current thumbprint (currently linked to your eHerkenning account)

  • The new thumbprint (from your newly issued certificate)

You will also need the details of:

  • Your organization

  • Your organization's Authorization Manager (if applicable)

  • The user (if different from the Authorization Manager)

Step 2. Do You Still Have Access to Your Account?

Yes, I can still log in
If you can still access your account, you can update the thumbprint yourself:

  1. Log in to Mijn Reconi.

  2. Go to My Details.

  3. In the overview of your information, click the edit (pencil) icon next to Certificate Thumbprint.

  4. Enter the thumbprint of your new certificate and save your changes.

No, I can no longer access my account
If you can no longer log in to Mijn Reconi, you can use our Change Request Form instead. This update is required to restore access to your account so that you can continue managing your eHerkenning details.
