Signing an eHerkenning application digitally

In order to digitally sign an eHerkenning application, you must have a specific certificate for placing qualified signatures.

You can find out which certificates are suitable for digitally signing the eHerkenning application form on the EU Trust List websites below:
  • Click here for suitable Dutch certificates
  • Click here for suitable certificates issued by authorities in other European countries.*

*Select the option “Qualified certificate for electronic signature” and click Next. Select the option “Check all” and click Next to see the complete overview.

If you are unsure whether your certificate is suitable for placing a qualified signature, please contact your certificate provider. You can then ask under which name their certificates are issued in accordance with the names on the above-mentioned EU Trust list.
