What is eIDAS? 

eIDAS is an acronym for: ‘Electronic Identification And Trust Services’ which is an European ordinance that enables interchangeable usage of national authentication means. 

eIDAS enables you to use your eHerkenning to logon to foreign portals within the EER. Each country defines their own data collection process. Therefor, please be informed about the requirements stated on the foreign website you want to logon to.

eHerkenning complies with the requirements for an officially recognized European authentication method. As of september 2021, entrepreneurs can use eHerkenning to digitally arrange matters in any EER-Country as long as the website you're logging onto supports eIDAS.

Where do I need eIDAS for?
If your organization is registered with the Dutch chamber of commerce (KvK), you can use eIDAS to logon to any (governement) service that supports eIDAS within the EER-zone.
