What is a PKIoverheid Certificate?

Public Key Infrastructure for the Dutch Government (PKIoverheid) enables secure and trusted digital communication with and within the Dutch government, as well as with organizations such as banks and the Dutch Tax Administration. PKIoverheid certificates are digital certificates that comply with the security and trust requirements established by the Dutch government. They are the standard for securing electronic government services and other trusted online transactions.

PKIoverheid certificates can be used by both government organizations and businesses. Professional Certificates, however, are intended exclusively for professionals in recognized regulated professions.
