How to resolve error messages while logging in with eHerkenning

The article below shows an overview of common error pages.

 

Some error messages are only shown in Dutch. Therefor this article contains some Dutch language which you could encounter whilst logging in using eHerkenning.

"De door u ingevoerde gegevens zijn onjuist"

Do you have an existing eHerkenning?
Please check if the entered e-mail address and password are correct and try typing the credentials manually.
Do you have a pending application for eHerkenning?
In that case, access to My Reconi isn't ready (yet). Please click here to log onto your application for eHerkenning.

The "Next" button is greyed-out.

When the "Next" or "Volgende" button is greyed out, your credentials entered using a password manager or autofill. Please enter your login credentials manually to resolve this. 

"U heeft onvoldoende machtigingen voor deze dienst."

You don't have an authorization for the service you're logging on to.

Some services have multiple pages to logon to. If the error message shows, sometimes the website offers a few different pages on which you can logon using eHerkenning. This makes logging on using one of these other pages possible.

In other cases, it's neccesary to add additional authorizations to your eHerkenning. You can do so by using the step-by-step guide by clicking here.

Miscellaneous error messages

Close all your internet browser' windows and try again. If this didn't resolve the issue, please follow the next steps:

  • Remove cookies from your browser
  • Visit the website you want to log onto instead of using a direct link from Favorites.
  • Make sure you have the desired authorizations and assurance level the service provider requires.
  • Make sure your username and password are entered, are correct. 
  • Please enter your login credentials manually.
  • Try using another webbrowser (Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox etc.)
